My siblings and I piled into a tiny studio oh, about 6 years back or so, all dressed alike, and had our photos taken as a Christmas gift to my parents. They loved it, like most parents usually do 🙂 Fast forward to today, and the greatest gift that I could still ever give my parents is the gift of family photos, albeit no more matchy-matchy, boring background studio shots! I am not knocking studios; there actually are some good ones that work well for specific types of photos. But big family pics? Nah. It’s so much more fun going to a nice location {or staying home} and getting some great shots of everyone together. I just love the idea of giving photos as a gift, and I love the idea of giving a photo shoot as a gift even more.
Meet awesome gift-givers Amanda, Sarah, and Zach, and their families. Amanda contacted me a few months ago about doing photos for her mom; the siblings would all be in town {brother Zach lives in Singapore!} and it was a great opportunity to round up the gang for some pics. I don’t know about you, but I love a group who can get 9 people {including 3 young kiddos} up and going early on a Saturday, all in the name of family photos!
The Kesler Family: Nick, Sarah and MadalynThe Hopper Family: David, Amanda, Alexander, and Dylan Mom and her kiddos…After the little ones graciously put up with an hour of hot shooting, we all walked over to the fountain to cool off. Some of these photos completely crack me up!
Thanks for a wonderful morning of shooting! It was so nice meeting all of you and I hope that you love your sneak peek 🙂
