I will warn you, this is a post full of pictures — pictures of the adorable, swoon-worthy newborn Avnee. Sweet Avnee was 10 days old when I came to photograph her. Grandma #1 greeted me at the door and lead me to the living room and Grandma #2 smiled at me from the kitchen as she cooked a savory breakfast. I eyed the Soyjoy bar in my camera bag, wondering if I could possibly make it through the shoot without sneaking to the kitchen and stealing a taste of that fragrant fare. Anu interrupted my scheming and lead me to the room where we would be shooting, warning me about the number of clothes she prepared for Avnee’s session. Nearly a dozen tiny outfits lay neatly on her king bed, everything from cute onesies to knitted blankets, tule tutus, headbands, bows, and the most beautiful saris. Anu explained that she wanted to get as many girlie photos of Avnee as she could right now because she just knew Avnee would hate all of that stuff as she got older 🙂 So we had fun spending the next three hours dressing her up and taking a thousand photos as she slept, smiled, winked, slept, rocked, rolled, and slept some more.
One of my all-time faves. Both of the proud grandmas, who traveled thousands of miles to see their granddaughter 🙂 A few in color never hurt…I had a serious internal battle about color or black and white for these next few photos, so I did what I always do when I can’t make a decision and I got posted both 🙂 What? I can’t help being the most indecisive person I know.
Be still my heart…
I had way too much fun taking Avnee’s picture, and I am pretty sure Anu will have more than her fair share of girly photos 🙂 Don’t ya think? It was truly a pleasure getting to meet and spend my morning with the Desai family, who were so hospitable, helpful, and kind during my time in their home. I drove away from their neighborhood, enjoying the chocolate truffle that Grandma #1 gave me on my way out {take THAT, Soyjoy!}, feeling really, really grateful to have this job and to be able to meet great people like this. Thank you so much, Desai family! I hope you love your sneak peek 🙂
