It was a hot Houston morning when I arrived at the Maddox home for their family shoot. We started really early, around 7am, to try and avoid as much heat as we could. Their dog Parker barked as I rang the doorbell, and covered me with puppy kisses once I made his acquaintance. Wyatt wobbled around the corner to see who I was and greeted me with the sweetest little grin. He had just turned one and was full of personality, which is why Jessie contacted me for a family session. One is such a fun age — they are walking, starting to talk, and are so darn cute. The four of us {and Parker} soaked up the AC for a bit as we got to know each other a little better, then it was time to brave the heat and head out to the gorgeous locations throughout their neighborhood. I really wish there were more locations like these…so pretty!
In true Chelsea-style, I couldn’t decide if I liked this best in color……or b/w…Jessie and Shea love their dogs, just like we do; dogs are part of our families and will likely be in many a family photo. Tragically and suddenly, Jessie’s sweet girl Mocha passed about a week before our shoot, but Jessie made it a point to include her, which I absolutely loved. This photo makes me smile. As a Texan who went to school near LOTS of pump jacks, I thought it was such a fun idea to shoot a photo like this. Great suggestion, Shea!I love this one 🙂I hope that you enjoy the pics, Maddox family! I really loved getting to know you Shea, Jessie, and Wyatt {and Parker too!}, and I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos with you. Thanks again for a wonderful time 🙂
