1. Leavin’ On a Jetplane. By the time I publish this edition of the Thursday Thread, I will be at the airport with Hubs, editing some pics as I wait to board the plane to sunny south Florida! I have been dying to visit Matt {bro-in-law} and Jordan {sis-in-law} since they moved there about two years ago, but life just didn’t allow it before now. It’s kinda funny, but I suppose taking the leap to become 100% self-employed is the reason why we are able to go on this little vacay. You see, once we made the decision that that was the plan for me, we made a list of things we HAD to do before the ‘safe’ paychecks from my then-employer ceased. Booking Florida was at the top of that list, because if we didn’t do it then, who the heck knows when we would ever get to go visit. So kudos to us 🙂 Really though, I am so totally pumped that we get to visit, that Hubs gets to hang out with his twin brother, and I get to hang out with my crazy, sugar-addicted partner in crime 🙂
2. JuJu. Travel in any form can be extremely difficult when you have lots of equipment to haul and I really didn’t have a great solution to carrying all of my gear…until yesterday. It started with an unexpected doorbell chime at 10am and a pretty white box on my front porch, and ended with a very happy wife/photographer! Folks, meet JuJu. She is the “mother of all camera bags” and can safely hold all of my stuff: laptop, two camera bodies, 3-4 lenses, a notebook, countless battery packs and cards, and soooo much more. If I ever thought Hubs didn’t listen to me or care what I rambled on about, boy was I EVER wrong! He picked out this little lovely all on his own, and just in time for our trip 🙂 Isn’t she pretty?! I love everything about this functional and gorgeous bag, and I think it is fair to say that I owe Troy one BIG. Like HUGE 🙂
3. Shore Thing. I somehow, against my will and all logic, got sucked into Jersey Shore. Ugh I feel greasy just saying that! Okay, let me clarify; I am not hooked, I just have it scheduled to record on my DVR each week 🙂 I blame the fact that most of my favorite shows are still on summer hiatus! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
4. The Big 6. While in FL this weekend, Hubs and I will celebrate our unofficial official sixth anniversary; once you get married, you technically aren’t “allowed” to celebrate your original dating anniversary, but I don’t care! We will be in the Keys/coming back from the keys, so maybe we can stop at a sno-cone stand to celebrate 🙂 I seriously cannot believe it has been six years since that fateful day in Lubbock, Texas. Gawsh, thinking about it makes me smile 🙂
