I have been so busy this week that I almost forgot about the Thursday Thread! It’s been many a late night around here, but it’s all good. My creative juices are flowing and lately, I feel like my brain is just about to ooze out from how hard I have been thinking and how much I am cramming in there 🙂 Website up-do, some botox for the blog, editing recent shoots, planning for a few styled photo shoots, the upcoming holiday mini sessions, and that front porch sign + stand combo that I saw on Pinterest. My to-do list is a work of art, let me tell ya! Oh, speaking of Pinterest {who isn’t?}, I am pretty sure it has made me a little craft-psycho lately. I have been cranking out craft projects on average of one a week, and performing almost daily drive-bys at Hobby Lobby. Psycho, right?! And our latest project? A few weeks ago, we picked up some ‘stray’ pallets and this weekend Troy made me a new table for our patio. It’s pretty friggin cool, but we need different legs on it. Will post when it’s finished and in its full glory 🙂 Duh!
Of course I want to share a few random things with ya for this installment of the Thread…
1. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! In last week’s Thread, I decided to give away a one-year subscription to the Martha Stewart Living magazine — the mecca for all things crafty, yummy, stylish, seasonal, and fun. 2. Pause. I haven’t officially announced it yet, but have been slowly getting the word out. Now’s the time: Chelsea Davis Designs will be on an indefinite hiatus, with the exception of holiday/Christmas cards, and obviously the website, blog, and products related to Chelsea Davis Photography. It was a hard decision to make, but the blessing of busy photo season after busy photo season has caused me to re-evaluate. I love designing, it is such an outlet for me; and seeing gorgeous paper goods on Pinterest and elsewhere makes me want to hide away in my office for days designing new products. But, it has grown difficult to balance the two businesses/services justifiably and I simply had to choose. Perhaps I can offer CDD services to you again one day — I promise you’ll be the first to hear about it! Email me in the meantime if you are in the market for a great designer to help out with your paper needs; I know a few pretty darn good ones and I am happy to share them with you!
3. Venting. I hate how often Facebook changes their style. Not so much from a general user’s standpoint {though I do hate how I have to go to the bottom of the feed to get recent updates/news now}, as much as a business owner who RELIES a whole lot on people easily viewing their recent work in real time. Ugh — so frustrating! Super big FAIL to you, Facebook. Folks, what do you think?
4. Time for Prime. Thank the TV gods — prime time is baaaaaack! I have spent the week thus far watching premieres of all my favorite shows: Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men {truth: I never watched this before, but I had to see Ashton Kutcher’s new role on the show sans Sheen}, and The X Factor. I plan to round out the week with Grey’s Anatomy, The Office, Big Bang Theory, and Boardwalk Empire. I don’t watch TV much at all. Obviously.
5. Oh happy day. Today is one of my best friends’ birthday and I want to give a big ol e-shoutout to her {cue the virtual confetti and balloon release}! Looking forward to celebrating with her 🙂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALLISON!
