1. Steve Jobs, 1955-2011. It is with sadness that I start this week’s Thursday Thread, remembering a genius of a man who has completely changed the way we use technology. RIP.
2. Rolling in the Deep. In keeping with a slightly sad theme, I am so unbelievably disappointed that Adele cancelled her Houston area concert {that, and the rest of her US tour}. It was just a week away and I was SOOOOOO looking forward to it. I’m not kidding, folks. I haven’t bought a concert ticket in years. So when the hubs and I made up our mind that we were going to see the soulful songstress, nothing would stop us. Hubs stayed on the refresh button until he secured two tickets {two GREAT tickets!} and we were all set to go…until she cancelled 🙁 I’m sad but I do wish Adele a very speedy recovery from her illness.
3. Final Showdown. The time has come. Jones will be packed and there will likely be tortillas. This weekend marks the final game in the Tech/A&M rivalry and it’s bound to be a good one. I know I will be glued to the TV the whole time, cheering for my Red Raiders to pull a win and end the rivalry on a high note. Wreck Em!
4. I Like it a Latte. Fall is here {and thankfully so} and you know what that means 🙂 PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE! Yes, I am one of those people who loves this delicious drink, who will likely post about it on Facebook every time I drink one, and will use any excuse to go get one. I am not a coffee fan really, but I do love me some PSL 😉 — skinny with no whip please…!
5. Play Ball! Last weekend, we played in Troy’s company softball tournament, which was a BLAST! I seriously haven’t had that much fun in I don’t know how long. We played four straight games and killed it each time {I’m talking 20-something to a few not-so-somethings!}. We were undefeated going into the championship game and ended up painfully losing by one point. Ugh {enter pouty face here}. I am not a great loser, folks. In fact, I admit it — huge character flaw! I am so super competitive that it left a little frown on my face the rest of the day, but I can’t really complain too much. I was so happy just to be able to break out the old glove and cleats {which totally fell apart as I was warming up on deck!} and not strike out every at bat. I wish I could do it all over again too, minus a few bruises, unbelievable soreness, and pure exhaustion 🙂 Thanks for taking so many great pics, Jeannie!
6. Sneak. I wanted to end with a little anticipation for tomorrow’s sneak peek: The Campbell Family! Warning: you will see extreme levels of sibling lovingness. This is not a trick, no models were used, and no bribes were made. Pure love, folks 🙂 Isn’t it sweet?? Check back tomorrow for the full sneak peek!
