In the spirit of this cold front, I seriously considered staying in bed all day, cuddled up with the puppies, my Tech Snuggie, and a cup of cocoa. But duty calls, and after I post this installment of the Thread, I am off to tackle my huge to-do list and leave my warm bed behind. But hey, maybe I will stop for a White Chocolate Mocha {my other seasonal fave} to help the day go by a little quicker….
1. Top Chef. Finally! Hubs and I love Top Chef and have been watching pretty much since its inception. Although we can’t cook a spoonful of anything they make on that show, we love watching it, dreaming about devouring all of the yummy concoctions they make. And to top it off — this season, the chefs are in Texas!! Woohoo!! It is nice to see Texas getting some culinary coverage 🙂
2. Halloween. Oh Halloween — the costumes, the little trick-or-treaters, haunted houses, and the beginning of the holiday season. This was one of the best Halloweens yet. We usually dress the pups and hand out candy to the neighborhood kiddos, but this year we went trick-or-treating with my 2.5 year-old nephew triceratops. It was so fun to trick-or-treat with him and see how excited he got over his loot. He got preppy pooped before too long so we got to spend the last part of the night passing out candy and admiring all of the creative costumes. Some of my favorites were Ariel from the Little Mermaid, Jessie from Toy Story {who we totally thought was Woody at first — oops!}, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, and a tiny shark. Of course our little triceratops stole the show though…
3. FaLaLa. Speaking of holidays, the season has started and I am officially filled with cheer. There is nothing about this time of year that I don’t love. In fact, I think it scares my family how obsessed I am. I love the crowded stores, fires in the fireplace, Christmas music, going to the Christmas tree farm, eating delicious food {that terrifies me a little}, celebrating with family and friends, watching my old claymation holiday movies, and Christmas in a Glass {if you don’t know what that is, don’t worry — I will share soon}. I also look forward to all of the festivals, the Nutcracker Market in particular. It always falls on our anniversary weekend, but this year we are staying in town so I am planning to go with my pal Sarah. If you live in the Houston area, you should definitely check it out. Wear tennis shoes though and bring water. It’s a beast of a market!
4. Let the Shopping Begin! I got three magazines in the mail this week: Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, and Sur La Table, all packed with amazingness. I have received dozens of promo emails from my favorite stores, with deals I couldn’t dare pass up. And I stumbled upon these via Pinterest and decided they must be mine. Somehow. I don’t know if it’s the fact that Christmas is 51 days, 11 hours, and 21 minutes away — actually, ya, that’s it — but I am shopping mode lately. And that doesn’t fare too well for my bank account…or my Hubby :-/ Is anyone else feeling tempted by all of these yummy advertisements/promos/pins?
5. Mini Session? I am considering doing another tiny mini session so those last-minute families {you know who you are! LOL} can get a family session in before it’s too late 🙂 I have had a few inquiries, so if you think you may be interested, let me know. Also, if you are thinking about booking for the new year, get in the books ASAP because there will be a few changes in 2012 for CDP 🙂
Have a great rest of the week, folks!
