1. I Scream You Scream…Last week, I went to HEB to pick up a few groceries, and as I passed through the dairy aisle, I spotted an end cap full of Bluebell’s newest 🙂 I dialed the Hubs to let him know about this amazing find, but he wasn’t half as amused as I was, so I moved onward and back to my list of things we actually needed. I don’t really think I was excited about eating these treats as much as I was excited about their validation that the holidays are here. And if I’m being honest, Spiced Pumpkin Pecan and Peppermint don’t sound too appetizing to me, and Banana Nut Bread as anything other than a warm baked good is just plain weird. But that Christmas Cookie carton…ya, that one definitely caught my eye: your favorite holiday cookies – chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and sugar – combined in a tasty sugar cookie ice cream with red candy cane-shaped sprinkles and a green icing swirl throughout. And wouldn’t you know, a few days later, my friend Cheryl totally came through and told me that she bought Christmas Cookie! You bet I went right on over there and grabbed me a scoop of that yumminess, and yummy it was. The tiny candy cane sprinkles and mix of cookies {they’re actually crunchy!} were pretty awesome, so I would definitely recommend giving it a taste 🙂 WARNING: it is quite sweet, so prepare yourselves, folks!
2. Merry Apothecary. I have been eyeing apothecary jars for quite some time now, but never really knew how they would work into our decor; the options are overwhelming. I finally picked up a few at our local Homegoods {spending a mere $22 on 2!}, thinking they would be perfect for holding little pinecones, cinnamon sticks, berries, ornaments, or some other holiday staple. They currently reside on my dining room table though, empty, begging me the Hubs to crawl into the attic and retrieve the seasonal decor that will make them fit right in. You know what that means… Christmas decorating shall commence next weekend! 🙂 What? Don’t judge! You can’t blame a girl for wanting to get into the holiday spirit early…can you? Ok maybe you can…
3. Speaking of holidays… I wanted to tell you about my good friend Sara, the talented designer behind Lulubean Designs. We have worked together on a few different projects and I am excited to let you know about a great promo she is currently running: 10% off orders placed by November 21! Head over to her blog to read more about it and see some of her work.
4. XOXO. Next week, Troy and I will celebrate our third wedding anniversary {grin}. I smile in disbelief because it blows my mind that three years has just whizzed on by. Unlike our usual celebrations, we don’t have huge travel or dinner plans this year, and instead are choosing a simpler yet equally exciting option: takeout and a drive-in movie, something we used to do all the time in college 🙂 I am so excited to pile into the bed of Troy’s truck with a sea of blankets, our pups {yes, they are coming with}, and some horribly unhealthy fast food {hehe}. We are going to this drive-in near Tomball {I didn’t even know there was a drive-in movie place near Houston!} and will see Puss in Boots and In Time, both for a whopping $5pp! This may be our cheapest, and best, date yet!
5. Sneak Peek. My plan is to post a few images tomorrow that I shot during Megan and JP’s Dripping Springs wedding, but here is a little glimpse into their love-filled day to tide you over 🙂
