1. Not Many Packages Tied Up With String. Gifts seem absolutely impossible to find/think up this year. I am sure it’s because I wasn’t prepared, but Christmas is 10 days away and I still have about half of my shopping to do :-/ I had hoped to hit the jackpot somewhere and scoop up all of the gifts on my list, but that hasn’t happened and now I am worried about getting everything done in time. I will say though, a few stores are totally peaking my interest with their last-minute email promos and free shipping {Kate Spade, Ann Taylor, Sun & Ski Sports, REI, Sephora, and Nordstrom}, so I may just have to swing by tomorrow to see what I can find. Or peruse Amazon {who always saves my life}. Any gifts you’ve found that are totally awesome and share-worthy? I need some major help, folks.
2. Reminiscing. Do you have that one show that as soon as you skim past it on your TV guide, you get a sudden rush of excitement and nostalgia? A show that reminds you of being little, and how simple TV was back then?? I do, and it is called The Waltons. PLEASE tell me at least one of you watched the Waltons growing up! I was feeling a little blah last week and spent a few days in bed, watching a Waltons TV marathon 🙂 And even better — it was their Christmas episodes!! Ah memories…
3. Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. We had our third annual Davis Christmas party last weekend and it was a complete blast. Best yet! Good food, yummy drinks, one heck of a gift exchange, and the best friends anyone could ask for. I took some pretty snazzy iPhone pics {insert sarcasm here} and even threw together a ‘ghetto-photobooth’ for some festive shots at the end of the party, but I will share them with you next week when I sort through them…and finish laughing 🙂 Here is a little peek into the early stages of the food table — again, ignore the crappy iPhone pic please!
4. Photo 101 Update. OK folks, I am planning to finalize this class in the next few days and will first send an email sign up to those who have already expressed interest in attending, before opening sign-ups up on the blog and Facebook. The date is set for January 14th, so mark your calendar! I am still finalizing the location, but am planning on having yummy food, lots of fun, awesome giveaways, and of course, helpful take-aways to help you better understand and use your DSLR. I have a great head count already {thanks, folks!}, but if you are interested in joining me, go ahead and email me to reserve a spot — no payment necessary until the official sign-up goes out. And hey, if you do not have a DSLR but have asked Santa for one {fingers crossed!}, email me anyways to hold a tentative spot. I tend to have faith in the big guy that you’ll get exactly what you asked for 🙂
5. Kate Spade to the Rescue. I just discovered the Kate Spade blog while Christmas shopping online and stumbled on this post. It’s a great read for those of us attending or hosting a holiday party, or any ‘ol shindig really. It is full of tips from Kate Spade’s The Guide To Living Colorfully — which would make a wonderful gift for the ‘well-lived’ lady in your life 🙂
6. The Big 2-7. My main squeeze is having a birthday this weekend and we have many fun festivities planned! I just can’t believe how old we are getting {I say WE because my bday is in a few short weeks too…eek!} and how much life has changed since we celebrated together for the first time. Every year around Troy’s birthday, I get a little sappy because I feel uber grateful for this blessing of a husband that God has given me {via Diana and Rick, of course! hehe}. I catch myself looking at him with overwhelming gratitude, for the friend that he has always been to me, the many sacrifices he has made for us, the love that he has so freely given me, the dreams that we share, and the promise of life together rooted in the deepest of love. Not a day goes by that I do not thank my lucky stars for you, Fred. I wish you the happiest birthday, love 🙂
Don’t forget to check back in tomorrow for the Wesleys’ Family session! Have a great Thursday, folks!
