This week’s Thread is bleak, at best. Sorry, folks 🙁 But I am soooo enjoying our vacay and indulging in doing next to nothing {reading, sleeping, eating, a smidge of work, repeat}. Today’s agenda just happens to include a morning full of awesomeness — couples massage followed by a facial and yummy lunch — my Christmas present from the hubs! I will return next week with a brand new Thread for the New Year, full of goodies, but here are a few tidbits to tide you over 🙂 Enjoy your day; I am off to get pampered!
Remember last week when I mentioned this monkey bread? Well it was an epic fail, a) because I didn’t read through it to find out that it would take close to 3 hours for prep+cook time, and b) because the bourbon glaze was a flop {egg yolks turned into a scrambled mess instead of a creamy base}. So, I improvised and made this recipe {yummo!} instead — way easier, making up my own glaze concoction {which totally rocked, if I do say so myself!}. Glaze: 1 cup heavy cream + 1 cup milk + 2 cups powdered sugar + 1 tsp vanilla + 2 tbs bourbon. Heat cream and milk until simmering, gradually add sugar, then add vanilla and bourbon. Cook until thick {consistency of syrup}. Photos to come soon!
