Is it already Thursday?! Whew! It’s been one of those head-down-nose-to-the-grindstone-don’t-stop-till-you-drop kind of weeks, but it’s almost over! I have been busy clearing out my queue and getting ready for my first ever workshop {squeal!} and I feel like I have more to share with you than I have days in the week — adorable baby sessions, some gorgeous bridals, a story of faith, and the many workshop details — but I guess I need to just exercise some patience 🙂 In due time… OK — let’s get this Thread started!
1. Foodie. I know I have written about how much I love Top Chef, but I DO I DO! I just can’t help it. This week was the infamous Restaurant Wars and they did a first-ever ‘battle of the sexes’. It was intense. Catch a re-run on Bravo if you missed it. Oh, and speaking of food, I have to tell you about a gem that hubs and I found: Dekkers Mesquite Grill. We stopped in on a whim a few weeks ago and were very pleasantly surprised. I tried the Tejas Caesar Salad and Troy had the burger — both were out. of. this. world. Can that even be true of a salad? You better believe it. That’s the BEST salad I have had in a while — easily top 3 {battling the Chelsea salad at Star Pizza and a delish Crispy Goat Cheese salad I got from Zia’s in Santa Fe}. Let me put it like this: I have been to Dekkers three times now, and you know what I ordered every single time? You guessed it 🙂 Go check them out if you are ever out here in my neck of the woods. It’s gooooood.
2. Football Shmootball. I have to give a HUGE thank-you to football. Being almost over. You know I love me some football {usually I am borderline crazy about it} but this year has been ridiculous, in every way imaginable. I won’t go into details because this is a happy Thread 🙂 and I sure don’t want any sad faces. I just want a fresh start, a new season, and my husband back. Screw you, fantasy football. We are not friends.
3. Happy Feet. My totally awesome sister got me these TOMS for Christmas {thanks, Nonney!}, but they didn’t fit all that well when I tried them on {note: 7.5 canvas TOMS are much looser fitting than the 7.5 cord ones, and size 8 cord TOMS are huge to a 7.5-er}. So I returned them 🙁 and am saving my store credit for a rainy day {many stores are down to slim pickins post-Christmas}. That rainy day may come sooner than later though because I just saw that these are making a spring debut 🙂 I will take one of each, please!
4. Shopping Cart. I am kind of shopped-out since the holidays are over, but I found these on West Elm’s website and am a little obsessed. I put 4 in my shopping cart…and I may or may not have clicked ‘BUY’… 🙂 Wouldn’t they make the cutest Davis guest bathroom addition hostess gifts? Check out the other Monogram bath towels on the site too — Love.
5. YeeHaw! For all of us in the Houston area, we know what ‘s quickly approaching: RODEO time! I am super excited for another year of bull-riding, muttin-bustin’, concert-watching, BBQ-eating, carnival-going fun. If you aren’t from Houston or haven’t ever been to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, it’s truly a spectacle. Starting Feb 28, it’s nearly 3 weeks of all things rodeo, including some pretty great concerts {at a fraction of regular concert prices}. Troy snagged two concert tickets in the work draw this week and we are looking forward to a little HLSR date night with Zac Brown Band. Who are you planning on going to see?
And now, a peek at what is in store for tomorrow. You won’t want to miss this, nor will you want to be tissue-less. It’s a heck of a story…

Ohhh! Is this the Williston post? I have been waiting for that! 🙂
I want one of every pair of those TOMS too…I have two pairs of canvas and I WANT MORE! Maybe I will wait til the ballerina flats come out? Maybe not….I have to have comfy shoes for law school classes, right? (or I will just keep telling myself that).
Love you! 🙂
