There is no way I would be where I am right now if people in the industry weren’t willing to share their talents, tips, experiences, and love for photography with me and others. So after several requests from clients and friends, The Workshop was born. Last weekend felt like such a milestone for me and there have been many times since then that I’ve felt overwhelmed with gratitude and joy. I was giddy over being able to spend my morning/early afternoon with some amazing people, going over the ins and outs of photography and sharing some of my knowledge.
The goal for my workshop was to familiarize novice/amateur camera users with their DSLR, teach them as many of the ins and outs as possible, and how to apply that knowledge to capturing beautiful everyday photos of their own, the ones where a professional photographer will not or cannot be there. I think that we truly accomplished that by the end of the workshop, and all of us left with a greater appreciation for this craft and all of the pieces that make up a great photo, not to mention a few new friendships {and some great prizes! Well, them, not me!}.
A HUGE thank you to Lisa from Petals By Design for creating these beautiful florals for the workshop.Jen’s crew from Frosted Bakery killed it with these custom petit fours. So good! Each person arrived to find a little white package {thanks Linds!} containing a Moleskine journal and a Chelsea Davis Photography notepad, some writing utensils, a custom CDP cheat sheet, and a tempting vanilla petit four. The Tasting Room definitely delivered with decadent food and the best service ever. My awesome group:
I had such a great time getting to know everyone and sharing some of the knowledge that has helped me along my photography journey. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of women to spend the day with; you were all so supportive and didn’t make me feel like a total babbling idiot standing up there! Thank you so much for coming 🙂 Also, a very big THANK YOU to all of these vendors who made it possible for everyone to go home with a little something special. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone on this list and feel so fortunate that we were able to work together. You guys were the ‘BAM’ in this workshop, so thank you! Troy, Michelle, Lindsey, Angie, and Alan — you will never know how truly grateful I am. Truly.

I took SO much away from your class, Chels! Not to mention the cutest camera bag ever! Seriously…I upgraded my 6 year old DSLR thru the Canon upgrade refurbished discount program and bought that really inexpensive lens you recommended. And, my goal is MANUAL only. Between those youtube demonstrations I’ve been watching, and then your clear direction in PERSON…I think I’m getting a handle on it. I want GOOD around the house, school, and just little life moments type pictures….AND YOU ARE HELPING ME DO THAT! Not many photogs would share all their knowledge. I know that! Thank you, my friend and photographer!!! xo
Ps…I think I’ve now watched our video you made…oh, at least 25 times! Obsessive??? Maybe. But I love it.

Chelsea, this looks like an amazing class! I don’t have a DSLR camera (yet!), but I’d love to take a class like this. I definitely need a new camera, but I’m not completely sure what to look for in a good camera (for me). I really wish you lived in the DFW area, LOL. Let me know, if you ever decide to do any classes up here! 🙂
