1. Great Things Come in a Tiny Box[woods]. Last week, I mentioned that I was excitingly trying out a new restaurant {crossing another item off of my 101 in 1001 list!} and I am happy to report that Tiny Boxwoods is officially my new favorite restaurant. I went for brunch on Thursday and had the best food, the best service, and the best 2-hour visit with my sis-in-law. We feasted on the Avocado and Egg, Morning Cheese, and the blueberry muffin du jour. Yum. Yum. And more Yum. Every bit of it was delish and I am already planning my return. And wouldn’t you know, a few days later while raving over my time at Tiny Boxwoods, a friend mentioned that they actually have a sister restaurant, Tiny’s No.5. Apparently their food is equally as good, if not better! I swear, with all of this ‘Tiny’ goodness, it seems that I will ever do brunch at another place again 🙂
2. Hand-painted House. I love all things personalized — stationery, bath towels, ipad covers, china — everything. So when I saw Rebekka Seale’s hand-painted, personalized illustrations, I was instantly smitten. I would love to have a unique portrait of our furry kiddos, or better yet, a portrait of our current home with our furry kids painted right in front! Rebekka’s work is beautiful and whimsical and I will have one of her paintings one day. OK, this going straight to the top of my wish list 🙂
3. Thread Tunes. I have to admit that every. single. time. LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know It comes on the radio, I do a little jig. Troy does one too 🙂 So we jig together, usually driving down the road with the radio all the way up and passerby’s looking at us like we are clinical. But we just can’t help it; the song is the perfect recipe for a random dance party, wherever you may be, whatever you may be doing. And that is always a good thing 🙂
4. Hope. Lately, a few of the people close to me have struggled, found heartache, or come upon challenging times, and I couldn’t help but think of them when I read this… “If I can endure for this minute whatever is happening to me, no matter how heavy my heart is or how dark this moment might be, if I can but keep on believing what I know in my heart to be true: that darkness will fade with the morning and that this will pass away too, then nothing can ever disturb me or fill with uncertain fear, for as sure as night brings dawning, my morning is bound to appear.” Well said, huh? I can’t shake the feeling that someone else out there–someone who may be a follower of my little blog or stumble upon it some time in the future–may find these words as hopeful and comforting as I had when I read it for the first time… {I apologize for not being able to credit the original author; they were not listed where I found this quote}
5. Party Animals. Be sure to stop by tomorrow because I have some pretty darn cute photos of our trip to the zoo last week with my 3-year old nephew. It was my first time to the Houston Zoo {love!} and our experience there was one I will never forget; elephant baths, an encounter with a giraffe, bonding with Jack…and a death threat from a raging monkey. Yes, I am entirely serious; Jack and I are still having nightmares. Complete story in tomorrow’s post 🙂 Until then, here’s a {happy} sneak peek:
I hope you guys have a great day!

Glad to hear another good review on Tiny Boxwoods. I need to get into town and try it out- hopefully before it gets crowded.
