Hey guys! Happy Thursday to ya. I hope every last one of you is taking full advantage of the beautiful weather outside. I think Starbucks on the patio sounds pretty perfect right about now, wouldn’t you say? Or better yet, a margarita on the patio…mmmmm. Sorry, I digress. Here is a little bit of Thread action for you on this glorious day 🙂
1. Reminder — April is Autism Awareness. I have gotten a few submittals already {thank you!!!} but wanted to send a friendly reminder about Autism Awareness month and the giveaway that I am having. You can read more here and here.
2. Thank You. I appreciate all of your support and patience and love during the past two weeks. I know I have been a little vague about what’s going on, but I hope to be able to explain soon. I just really appreciate all of you — clients, readers, friends, family — who stood by, patiently supporting me and letting me take the time to deal with everything. When the blog took a little bit of a rest, my to-do list came to a screeching halt, and I had to rearrange just about everything, I wasn’t stressed. I was reassured, by your kind words and thoughtful gestures. I am constantly reminded of how amazing my job is to be surrounded by such top notch people each day. Really. And I thank you completely.
3. Spring Cleaning! OK so I am thinking of selling one of my lenses and an older camera body. If anyone is interested in one of these items, email me (chelsea@chelseadavisphoto.com) and make me an offer 🙂 First up, a Tamron 70-300mm F/4-5.6 lens that retails for $499. It has been used maybe 10 times {oops} so I want to sell it to someone who can actually get some use out of it! Next, a Canon 40D body — another one that I haven’t used in forever, but really need to pass on to someone who can use it. The camera comes with a camera strap and body cap. Let me know if you are interested!
4. Hunger Games. The hubs read The Hunger Games {book 1} while we traveled to the east coast, and said he actually liked it. A lot. He was reading during any and all free time he had, and finished the dang thing in like two days. Originally, I thought it may be the new ‘Twilight-like’ craze for tweens {and grown women, swooning over fictional heartthrobs} but I have heard it is in fact a good, exciting read, and that the movie was oddly a very good representation of the book. I always thought the movie looked pretty interesting, so maybe I will go see it and test the waters. Anyone read the book{s} and seen the movie? Thoughts?
5. Eggcelent Eggs. I am thinking about making these Easter eggs this weekend. Fun, huh? Last year, I bought the ties and everything, but never found the time to sit down and make them {typical}, so I thought I would give it another go this year. If it works out, I will share next week on the Thread 🙂
6. DIY Time. Crafts and DIY projects haven’t been happening too much around here lately, but I’m getting the itch to try something new. I stumbled upon this wine bottle holder and I think it may be the perfect project for us. The design is really simple and super easy to make, but the best part is that it lends itself really well to countless possibilities for color and style. You can do a white wash, a dark Tuscan stain, a crackle effect, or even a distressed colored paint. Hey Troy, whatcha doin this weekend?? 🙂
Before I head out, here is a little sneak peek at what’s coming soon on the blog — Rachel and Joe’s engagement session 🙂 Check back very soon!
