Head above water. That’s what it feels like right now in the midst of ‘busy season’ — barely keeping my head above water. I know, poor me, right? Tiny violin, blah blah blah. Regardless, I have wonderful dreams of total organization, a computer that can read my mind and edit photos for me, a website and blog that re-design themselves, and a clone that doesn’t mind doing laundry, vacuuming, and playing with the dogs. If only…!
1. Life in Plastic; It’s Fantastic. Yesterday, a good friend sent me this ‘wedding’ and I laughed my butt off. So clever, and shot JUST like a wedding traditionally would be; I mean, the detail shots are kinda crazy! I can’t help but wonder though, how long all of that would have taken to produce…
2. Summer Lovin’. In between DVR’d shows, I catch a few commercials here and there and have been noticing how great some of this summer’s blockbuster previews look. For example, Snow White and the Huntsman; I am so excited about Charlize Theron’s performance as the evil queen that I can probably get over the fact that Bella Swan Kristen Stewart is playing Snow White — young girl, in danger, fighting blood-thirsty villains, object of everyone around her’s desire…sounds a little familiar, doesn’t it? The movie hits theaters June 1 and I think I feel a date night coming on 🙂 Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows {May 11} also looks awesome and has me itching to see Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter together again after Sweeney Todd. It kind of reminds me of Beetlejuice-meets-Edward-Scissor-Hands…and I like it 🙂 As far as sequels go, or trilogies, or whatever they are called, I just read that we are getting another installment of Bourne in The Bourne Legacy, and the final chapter in the Batman story when The Dark Knight Rises comes out later this summer. I think it’s fair to say that Troy and I will likely consume a LOT of popcorn in the upcoming months.
3. Mom’s Day. Mother’s Day is just around the corner and I have been racking my brain trying to figure out just what to get the special women in my life. Of course, I would love for all of you to give your mom the gift of a fun photo session with yours truly {hehe, shameless self promotion never hurt, right?}, but I have also been scoping out a few things that would also be a really great alternative: Family Tree Pillow Cover, a lovely necklace from The Vintage Pearl, a custom frame from my fave — The Sugared Plums, or custom stationery from my friend at Lulubean Designs. Whichever direction you decide to go in with the gift-giving, make sure to hug your mama and let her know just how special she is. I know I personally am one of the luckiest girls in the world 🙂 Best mom ever!
4. Last Call. I just wanted to remind all of you that this is the last week to submit for the Autism Awareness give-away. I love reading your stories, so keep ’em coming! Read more about entering yourself or someone you know here and here.
5. Sneak Peek Time! Here is what I have coming down the line for you over the next week or so, including a snippet from Romona + Freddy’s love-filled wedding. Happy Thursday!
