I hope you all had a fantastic fourth of July! We sure did — not a whole lot that beats cooking out with good friends and watching fireworks 🙂 Great day, really great {except for my 200 mosquito bites}. Happy Birthday, USA!
1. Make Up. I have been working really hard on a branding facelift and sprucing up my packaging materials, business cards, and marketing materials, and it is finally coming together! I have gotten almost everything in stock and ready to go, which makes me happy as a clam 🙂 The website seems to be the biggest work in progress and I feel like it will never be finished, but it’s coming along {just a bit faster than a snails pace}. Check out some of the new goodies that ARE finished and ready to go:
2. Bargain Shopping. I went to visit my mom-in-law in San Antonio last week and after doing some unpacking and organizing of their new house, we stopped off at the Pottery Barn Outlet in San Marcos. I haven’t been to the outlets there in years — I think I was a sophomore in college! But I digress… Have you been to the PB outlet? First, let me tell you that it’s not JUST Pottery Barn in there. No, the warehouse is home to Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Williams Sonoma, and West Elm. Swoon. I had some pretty good luck in there, grabbing this quilt {which I have been eyeing for years} for over half the price. Shams too! I also snagged a few household items at a reasonably low price, but it was all I could do to not purchase every piece of furniture I laid my eyes on. They seriously had some of their most popular pieces for DIRT CHEAP. I can’t say the same for the Williams Sonoma section {way overpriced for an outlet}, but the rest of the warehouse was pretty awesome to shop. I have to go back…anyone up for a roadtrip??
3. Happy Birthday! This week marked a few special birthdays in our family: Troy’s sister Lindsey and his grandpa Vernon {July 3}, and my sister Mandy {July 5}. Not to mention, America {July 4} 🙂 We wish all of you a FAB birthday full of the greatest blessings, and send you lots and lots of love! XO
4. Thread Tunes. If we’re friends on Facebook, you may have seen my post about the Kings of Leon Pandora station being totally awesome. I heard a dozen songs on that station that I thought should make the Thread Tunes list, but when I sat down to do it, I couldn’t pick just one song or one artist. So I have multiples this week: Franz Ferdinand, Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon, Gotye, Fun., The Black Keys, and The Strokes. Oh, and since we are still recovering from the 4th festivities, I think it is fair to say that the actual song of the week should be Lee Greenwood’s God Bless the USA…because it played about two dozen times yesterday, and because I think Troy shed a tear every time it played.
Happy Thursday!!
