Scott greeted me with a heavy-duty mosquito repeller in hand and Karrie had lemonade waiting in the fridge. On a hot, humid, just-after-the-rain session in Houston, that’s exactly the kind of welcome a photographer would appreciate. And boy did I! Mother Nature threw us just about every curveball you could imagine, including a few rain showers and a constant swarm of mosquitos, but we were not deterred. Only stopping for lemonade, we traveled to a few of Karrie and Scott’s favorite places so we could capture their newly-engaged happiness, and these images couldn’t be more of a testament to how effortless it was having them in front of my camera. Karrie put a lot of thought into the details of our time together and it shows — perfectly coordinated outfits, a slew of sentimental locations, and one lovable little dog named Petunia to add to the mix. Could my job get any easier? First stop, the couple’s GORGEOUS home:
This is Miss Petunia. She loves to give kisses for treats 🙂
This is the kind of porch you see on a house in Georgia or South Carolina, on a big plot of land surrounded by oak trees, and with a cold pitcher of lemonade in the ice box. Yea, I said ice box. But this lovely home is smack dab in the middle of Houston…and I could move in tomorrow 🙂  Love this one.Could you guys get any cuter?Â
Karrie, you are too pretty. Honestly, girl! Love these next few…
Karrie picked this fun spot for our next location and I fell in love with that dandelion fountain. I have been wanting to shoot there for years!
Spot #3: The location where Scott proposed. The light was gorgeous over here and gave us some of my favorites from the whole session. And I will end on this note…dancing under the trees by the glow of the lamp posts.Â
K + S — thank you! For being so totally up for whatever got thrown our way, for sweating it out while we fought off the mosquitos, for welcoming me into your lovely home, and for that wonderful lemonade. But most of all, thank you for letting me into your love story to photograph this special time for you. I couldn’t have had more fun and I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek!
Happy weekend everybody!
