1. Styled. We have had a few styled shoots in the books this year and I am hoping to get one more in before it’s all said and done. I am thinking the date will be set for some time within the next 6-8 weeks, so please email me if you would like to participate/model. I have a few peeps on the list, but it never hurts to see who else may be interested! The theme of the shoot is still in the works and we are keeping it a little hush-hush, but we are looking to shoot with a good number of models, so men, women, kiddos, and even our furry friends — apply now! 🙂
2. Go for the Gold. I am so so SO excited about the summer olympics starting tomorrow! It is one of the first things I remember ever seeing on TV and I have great memories of watching it with my mom, who is as big of a fan as they come. She favored track and field, diving, and our absolute favorite: gymnastics — shout-out to the Magnificent Seven! I wish I could watch Dominique Dawes, Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, and Kerri Strug compete again because it just hasn’t been the same since 1996. Seriously, could anything ever compare to Strug’s vault performance to win the gold for team USA?? I get teary-eyed every time I see it! Troy and I really love to watch nearly every bit of the olympic games though, and I am especially excited about Lolo Jones’ comeback and the Phelps-Lochte battle. You’ll probably find us sitting at home quite a bit over the next few weeks, humming the National Anthem and feeling all patriotic and stuff. Go Team USA!!
3. But It’s On Sale. I haven’t shopped in a while. I mean really shopped {I used to really get after it with some retail therapy back in the day}. But thanks to Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale, I’ve been at it again. In a big kind of way. This Anniversary Sale means that most of next season’s items {everything from purses to shoes, clothes, sunglasses, watches, jewelry, perfume, and even makeup!} are on sale; some items are almost 50% off! I did pretty good with my two visits there — yes, I said two…feeling a little ashamed now — scooping up a snazzy pair of Nike’s for dirt cheap {what what!}, a new watch so I don’t have to rely solely on my iPhone {this is big, folks — I haven’t worn a watch since 2006!}, and a few other fun little things, BUT I passed up a whole slew of sale items that I desperately wanted to take home with me {everyone cheer on Troy’s behalf}. 4. Thread Tunes. The lyrics of Awake My Soul by Mumford & Sons have resonated with me lately…In these bodies we will live, in these bodies we will die; and where you invest your love, you invest your life…ahhhh. That’s pure goodness, folks. Well said. And so, that makes it this week’s Thread Tune 🙂
5. Sneak Peek. Last weekend, we had the pleasure of shooting one of my favorite weddings ever. Rachel and Joe said ‘I Do’ in a lovely Galveston setting, full of their closest friends and family, and this sneak peek is just a glimpse of their love-filled day. More to come tomorrow!!
