1. Clean Freak. Even though we’ve barely gotten into the new year, it definitely feels like spring around our house. April-like showers in January, sunny afternoons, and cleaning. Oh the cleaning. We are de-cluttering like you wouldn’t believe, and it feels awesome! I think somewhere deep down I am a closet OCD’er who gets really happy over neatly organized boxes, clean shelves, and throwing bags of stuff away. Most days I am pretty content with little piles or stacks of this and that around the house, but every now and then, I get so fed up with seeing ‘stuff’ that I go on a rampage of full-blown purging. Last night alone, we brought 4 bags and a box of stuff to Goodwill — high five to us! Anyone else feeling need for some spring cleaning?
2. 101 in 1001 Update. While we are on the note of being productive, I thought I should revisit my 101 in 1001 list to update my progress and see what I have left to do over the next 730 or so days. I was super happy to have crossed of another 10 things since I last updated the list, but I realized I definitely need to make some changes to it {unless I plan on winning the lottery any time soon, I do not see how I can possibly visit Canada, Spain, Napa, Vegas for WPPI, Chicago, New Orleans, the Grand Canyon, AND go on a ski trip…all by October 29, 2014}. I don’t know if changing the list is ‘allowed’ but I figure there are some better things I could put on there now ๐ I better get on that. Have any of you started a goal list like this?? How are you doing accomplishing tasks?
3. New Things. I have been trying my hand at a few things that I have never really done before, one being distressing/antiquing furniture for our home. I thought it would be kind of easy, but after doing a lot of research and finding the right tools {yes, there are tools!}, I think I may have bitten off more than we can chew :-/ We purchased an adorable dresser online a few weeks ago and are planning to give it a nice Restoration Hardware ‘weathered antique’ look. I don’t want it to look rustic, but more of the look of weathered French furniture. I know, I am being waaaay specific ๐ But this girl knows what she wants! I originally thought of doing a grey washed look {typical Chelsea}, but I have been scouring Pinterest and am tempted to go way out of my comfort zone and try color — whaaaaat?? ย I just love this, this, and this ๐ Who knows how long this whole project will take, but I will keep you posted if you’d like to see our progress ๐ Although I am a little intimidated, I am pretty excited and have already starting making a list of other things we can paint — uh oh!
4. Thread Tunes. Hmmm…I have been enjoying a big range of music lately so one song doesn’t really stick out more than another. BUT I have been pretty wrapped up in the show Nashvilleย and I find myself loving nearly all of the songs they sing so why not make them this week’s tunes? Yep, all of them. If you head over to iTunes, you can give all of the show’s hits a listen {fun fact:ย Hayden Panettiere,ย Connie Britton, and the rest of the cast sing their own songs!}.
5. Sneak Peek. Tomorrow, I have something extra exciting in store, so Tuesday I will be featuring Taryn and Tommy’s Agave Road wedding that we shot last weekend. Here is a little teaser until then ๐
