1. CDP News. Can you even believe this AMAZING weather we have had? I feel like I sound like a broken record, but seriously — this is insane. I could sit outside all day, sipping lemonade and basking in the sun. However, I am a bit worried that this may be an indication of how unbearably hot it will soon be, and that makes me cringe. I know the holidays are not that far behind us, but I would consider getting those spring family photos on the calendar sooner than later (only two weekend dates left in March and one in April), because sweating up a storm and swatting mosquitos hardly sounds like fun right now! I am thinking of doing a little springtime discount, so keep your eyes peeled! In other news, the new website is officially up and running! I can’t believe I am finally saying that, considering how long it has been on my to-do list. I love how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it too! This blog got a tiny little makeover as well and may be in for a few more tweaks, but I am really happy with how everything is coming together 🙂
2.  Portrait of a House. I am a little sentimental {just a little}, so when I first came across Rebekka Seale‘s website, I instantly knew I wanted a piece of her art to serve as a sweet way to remember our very first home together. She works from photos of your house’s facade to hand-craft the loveliest gouache and watercolor painting, plus, she happily includes your fur-balls in your custom portrait! BONUS! A few months after contacting her and sending photos, our painting arrived in the mail along with a CD with a digital copy of the image. I was so happy with how everything turned out that we opted to do something a little different for our New Years card than the usual photo arrangement 🙂 What do you think?? If you think Rebekka is as talented and amazing as I do, you should definitely visit her shop or site. So worth it! {Side note: can you spot Lucy cat??}
3. Stuck. As I mentioned before, we are trying really hard to get {and stay} organized and de-cluttered. So far, we have gotten rid of a bunch of stuff and the garage is basically finished, but nearly every other room in our house is…well… ‘getting there’. I am having a really hard time with storage options, from the cheap-o racks and shelving options at WalMart all the way to expensive custom guys, I find myself more and more frustrated by not knowing exactly what to do. Ikea seems abnormally overpriced these days, Target has a limited selection, Home Depot is out of this or that {which makes it impossible to finish a project}, and I haven’t reached enough courage to step into the Container Store yet {can you say organization overload??}. Have any of you done a total reorganization/de-cluttering makeover, and if so, what in the world did you choose do?!?! Closets, bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry rooms, offices — I need help with it all! *waving white flag*
4. Thread Tunes. Have you heard of Lindsey Stirling? I heard one of her songs on the Bruno Mars Pandora station and I was blown away. She is a violinist who can also dance and mix beats, bringing them all together for some pretty phenomenal performances. She “composes, choreographs, and directs all of her original music and videos — merging unique violin stylings and electronic dub-step beats with animated contemporary dance.” Um, talented much? My fave right now is her song Elements and I am telling ya, this girl is crazy talented. Check her out for sure.
5. Sneak Peek. Next up on the blog, Taryn’s rustic bridal portraits — I died over this location!
