1. Minis. I will be announcing the date for spring mini sessions — a CDP first! — tomorrow, so be sure to tune in throughout the day. It’s one day only, and spots are limited and are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Can’t wait to share the details with ya, including a give-away for a mini session spot! 🙂
2. High-fives. This week, it’s the little things that are making me smile big, so I thought I would share them with you: 1) Getting a brand new Whole Foods, 3.4mi from my doorstep. I am so excited about this you have no idea. I even got up yesterday for the grand opening and had ALL of my grocery shopping done by 10am. What!?! 2) Simplehuman trash cans…because who the heck wants to have to actually touch their trash can on a daily basis? 3) Etsy. I know the online marketplace is certainly no secret, but I can find anything I could possibly need there, and has me jumping for joy! 4) Certified CPAs. They are patient, knowledgable miracle workers who make my life soooo much simpler. And they save me money. Double high-five! 5) Chalk Paint. I can’t even begin to tell you how magical this stuff is — the good ones in particular. I will never sand, strip, stain, prime, double-sand, and double-prime furniture ever again. Wow,I feel like I just gained 5 years of my life back…
3. Bookworm. I have started to read again — hallelujah! My nightstand has about half a dozen books left for me to read, but I am making my way through them like a champ and I am really loving them….and down time that reading gives me right before falling asleep. All too often, I would drag myself to bed totally exhausted from staying up late working, and reading was the absolute last thing from my mind. But not now, with my new schedule and getting to bed at a decent hour, I am officially turning into quite the bookworm. A few that I am thinking of adding to my reading list: What Good Is God?, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, Me Before You, and The Power of Habit. Do you guys have any good book recommendations for me to add to my list???
4. Thread Tunes. Last weekend, the hubs and I went on a movie date to see Silver Linings Playbook and we loved it. It had the perfect mix of dry humor, love, drama, and awkwardness to make for our kind of movie. So good. As we descended the 1,000 stairs to exit the theatre, I noticed the closing song — you know, the one that plays while the credits are rolling — and I HAD to know what it was and who sang it. We loved the entire Silver Linings Playbook soundtrack, but this particular song was tha bomb, so I ducked into a wheelchair spot to avoid being trampled as I Shazam’d the song, and Always Alright by Alabama Shakes pops up on my phone’s screen. As soon as we got in the car, we googled and listened to it in full, then added the Alabama Shakes Pandora station to our list of faves. I seriously urge you to listen to Always Alright {and all of the other tracks too} and I DARE YOU not to tap your foot or dance around the house like a maniac. Double. Dog. Dare you.
Have a fantastic day!!
