It’s pretty early in the morning as I type this — I am sitting at the car dealership waiting to get my car serviced and figured I would attempt a Thread from my iPad using my cell as a hotspot. Don’t I sound tech savvy??? 🙂 Don’t give me too much credit though, it’s proving to be much more difficult than I thought!
**Note: it proved to be MUCH harder to type/blog via the iPad, so the tech savvy-ness didn’t last long {wah wah}. Needless to say, the Thread was much delayed today and I am blaming it on technology. Yup.
1. Easter! Easter is this weekend and I am honestly really dang excited about it. Maybe it’s because I have a handful of nieces and nephews who make the joys of this holiday that much sweeter, or perhaps it’s simply the great message and the lesson rooted in this special time of year. Either way, I love it. For me, it also marks the real start to spring — new life and sunnier days, when everything starts to bloom {hello, pollen allergy}, baby ducks take over the local parks, and people start wearing pastels. And if we’re being realllllly honest, this girl loves her some deviled eggs, which is totally an Easter lunch staple in our house {these may be making an appearance there too!). So whatever your reason for getting Easter excited this weekend, I hope you remember to take a moment to fill yourself up with lots of love, gratitude (1 Peter 1:3) and hope (John 11:25-26 ) <3 And maybe a few pieces of candy, too!
2. FaLaLa. We caught the first two episodes of The Voice this week and I am totally diggin the newbies, Shakira and Usher. They add so much to the panel and dare I say Shakira is a much better fit than Christina? Love her español too 🙂 I’m going to go ahead and call it and say that Adam’s team is looking like it houses the for-sure winner though, based on what I’ve seen so far. All 3 {?} of them are really talented, heck, everyone is!! It’s sure to be a great season, especially since I got Troy hooked and we now watch it together…hehehe.
3. CDP News. This week wraps up yet another month {holy cow!} and we will soon be into April, which, in addition to the fact that 3 of my nieces and nephews have a birthday in April, is very important to me because of Autism awareness. So be on the lookout for something super sweet to honor this special month! I have a few things in store for ya 🙂 Also, there are only a few spots left for spring/early summer sessions before I go on leave, so make sure you shoot me an email if you want to get your shoot in the books sooner than later! I only have a teeny tiny hand full of weekend dates open, the rest are week days, so check those calendars and holler at me!
4. On the Road, Again. Broken record alert — I have mentioned it about 100 times, so you guys know Round Top is like, now. And I am so going. But do you know that I am going twice? I am such a nerd. Seriously. But there’s just something about a Texas highway lined with bluebonnets and sprinkled with some of the best finds in all the land. And there’s just too much ground to cover in only one day. Every time I go, I wish I had a trailer to haul loads of goodies back home, but sadly, we do not have a trailer {Troy sighs a big sigh of relief} and I am limited to what will fit in the back of my SUV 🙁 Bummer. Maybe I can bring Troy’s truck this time???? 🙂 But seriously, if you are looking for something to add a little ‘old’ to your house, there’s no place better. From the outskirts of Round Top, towards Warrenton and even down to La Grange, it’s an antiquer/junk collector/treasure hunter/DIY-er/hoarder’s dream come true. Is anyone out there going besides me?!?!?! Oh please say you will!
5. Thread Tunes. Y’all know I am a fan of The Voice, but I have also become quite a fan of Blake Shelton over the past few years. Last season, when his collaboration of Just a Fool with Christina Aguilera came out, I was smitten. Loved it. Love loved it. I can’t help but sing at the top of my lungs when it comes on the radio {much like any other Xtina song — woah, throwback to her Dirrty days!}. Give it a listen if you haven’t already, and belt your heart out — it’s almost the weekend! By the way, do you really know how NON-soundproof your car is from the outside? Ya, I’ve gotten a few weird looks in the middle of my stopped-at-a-red0light sing-alongs…just sayin’…
Happy Thursday, y’all!

I just wanted to say that I love your Threads. Every topic always seems to be the perfect length, and filled with humor & personality. Also… I 100% agree that Adam’s team is going to dominate this season, but I wish he would add some “so/so” singers so he doesn’t have to eliminate the amazing ones!
