Today is World Autism Awareness Day, and April is the official month of Autism Awareness. I have known about autism most of my life because my mom has dedicated hers to helping families affected by autism. Through her work, I have gained such an appreciation and admiration for those living with ASD, for their families, and the teachers and other staff who work with these amazing families. By now, most of you know how important autism awareness is to me, and that I try to do a small part in bringing some awareness to AND appreciation for what families affected by autism experience. I am deeply grateful for those who commit their lives to teaching, helping, raising, and supporting people with autism. So as tradition has it, I am going to give away one free portrait session {like this one with the incredible Reid} to a family that has been touched by ASD. All that I ask is that the winner be willing to share their story here on my blog to help raise awareness and offer a unique perspective.
