I feel about as normal and predictable as the weather we’ve had lately. OMG what is going on?! Thankfully, there are sunnier skies in our future, so needless to say I am so looking forward to the weekend to get things back on track. Getting a whole bunch of family and friend time in this weekend is an extra bonus ๐
1. Just Do It.ย I am currently taking volunteers for tackling my enormous to-do list. Haha, don’t all jump up at once!ย With baby’s arrival coming faster than we can seem to prep for, I have so many projects that I aim to complete before I can breathe easy, including a lamp similar to this one, a DIY mobile, painting a canvas for the nursery, hanging frames and artwork, finding curtains, and the list goes on and on… Pinterest, although so so wonderful, is really making it hard for me to finish something without having another project waiting in the wings! How do you guys tackle all of your projects?
2. Good Buys. I had so much fun in Round Top, TX last week, scooping up little treasures left and right. This trip was very different than the past few because we weren’t looking for furniture, rugs, and our usual bigger finds. We went just for trinkets and accessories, particularly for the baby’s room ๐ I found nearly everything on my list — yes, I made a list — and ended up with a few unexpected things for the house {I couldn’t resist!}. Here is what we scooped up {not pictured — for obvious reasons — two pieces of homemade pie from Royer’s Pie Haven…yummmmm}:
milk glass candlestick holders and short vessel // tin 9″ D // antiqued bird hooks // vintage wooden ‘B’ block // 3D weathered metal D // earrings // Texas Tech bow // gigantic 4′ dough bowl // euro-linen pillow with vintage cloth book page — the ONLY reason we went to Round Top this year! I HAD to have a pillow like this for the nursery // embroidered pillow cases for future pillowcase dresses // little metal ‘B’ for the nursery // milk glass vase for the nursery
3.ย CDP News.ย Just wanted to throw out a few reminders because I have gotten some emails lately relating to these topics:
- April is autism awareness month and I am doing a big give-away for those affected by autism AND those who share about autism. It’s worth a read, so please go check out the details and consider spreading the word! It would mean a whole lot ๐
- Session Dates: I am limited on dates available before I go out on leave, but do still have a few spots in April and May, so get your session booked before it’s too late! I will be out for a few months but am planning to start sessions again in September and have started booking for the fall too. It’s never too early to secure your spot! You know what they say about the early bird…
4. Thread Tunes.ย My sis in law Lindsey recommended a song for this week’s Tune, and I think it’s a pretty good one, so I am going to take her recommendation and encourage you guys to give a listen to Anything Can Happen by Ellie Goulding. It’s a great one to belt out to and it always puts me in a positive mood when it’s on, so there ya go. Enjoy!
5. Sneak Peek. Last week, I worked with a bunch of amazing families and have been busy busy working through them so I can share them with you. Here is a little peek of who’s next to hit the blog:
Have a great rest of the week, folks! Oh, and before I forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my niece {Lily} and nephew {Jackson} — you two light up our life so much and we love you to pieces ๐
LOVE this! A shout out to my two littles AND a thread tune recommendation!!! SWEET!! Love to you! And if you find someone to help you with your list, send them my way after. ๐
