1. It’s Gameday! I have to start by wishing our Red Raiders good luck in tonight’s highly anticipated game against TCU. We have been on a roll lately (especially last weekend, with our awesome 61-13 win against SFA), so hopefully we can continue the winning streak when we face our fist conference opponent of the season. Wreck Em, Tech! Bree and her Tech buddies say so too 🙂
2. High Fives. 1) My first high five goes to Baby Einstein. I needed 20min to get some work done this morning, so I finally caved and put on the Beethoven one to keep Bree busy. WOW. I never knew something could be so entertaining for her! She loved it, and since I was able to get my work done, so do I 🙂 Side note, whomever came up with the Baby Einstein concept is a business genius (and multi-millionaire as a result). Wish I would’ve seen the potential in a few hand puppets, close-up shots of moving parts, and simple shapes and sounds…meh. 2) High five to season finales, especially HBO’s The Newsroom, ABC’s Mistresses, and TLC’s Honey Boo Boo. Yes, even Honey Boo Boo. I don’t really watch that show but I caught the finale last night and Troy and I both found ourselves taken aback by how sweet it was. Gotta appreciate selfless, unconditional love, y’all! One season’s finales means another season’s premiers though, and we are loving all of our favorite shows coming back for the fall. 3) I am giving each of you a high five if you display your family’s photos in your home, especially CDP photos 🙂 I did a shoot last weekend and it melted my heart to see photos that I’ve taken over the years covering the shelves and walls of their home. CDs are great (and I personally think they are an invaluable safeguard for your photos) but there’s nothing better than seeing great pics on display! Â
3. Baby Blurb. Speaking of high fives, Bree really deserves a BIG high five this week; our little girl rolled over for the first time! I was so excited because I didn’t know she was even close to doing it, and then all of a sudden she just…rolled! Thankfully, I was already snapping a few photos of her when it happened, so I technically have it ‘on film’ but I really wanted to share it with Troy and the rest of our family, so I grabbed the video camera that my mom got us for occasions just like this one and waited for her to flip over again. After some encouraging, she did it again! Happy mama right here 🙂 I never thought I could be so proud of someone. I really wanted Troy to be able to witness it in person, but in an attempt to get her to roll over  again when he got home from work, I think I maybe pushed her a little too hard to do it on command (oops); she may have reverted back to her pre-rolling days already, thanks to my pageant-mom-like pushy behavior. Uh oh. In all seriousness though, I can’t believe how fast our little girl is growing, and although it is really exciting, I kinda want it to slowwwww dowwwwwn…
4. Thread Tunes. I should make this week’s Thread Tunes the super-cheery-and sometimes-annoying melody that Bree’s playmat has on repeat. Can’t get it out of my head!!! Instead, I will point you in a totally different direction and urge you to watch this rendition of ‘Toxic’, sung by an adorable couple on last night’s X Factor. I’m going to go ahead and say this duo is gonna go FAR, y’all! Super far.
5. Sneak Peek. Here is a peek at my session last week with the lovely Warren family. Check back tomorrow for the full post!
