About a week ago, I met Evelyn. Tiny, beautiful, perfectly brand new Evelyn. She is such a doll, and from the get-go, I was so excited to photograph her and her sweet family. As soon as I arrived at their house, I was quickly reminded of how recently we were in the same spot as and Angela and JP, experiencing all of the new and exciting moments that came with becoming a parent for the first time, and it made me feel so proud. I remembered very vividly how hard those first few weeks were (the first week was cray-cray!) but we got through it, and Angela and JP are breezing right through too. I know they probably didn’t feel that way in the midst of the sleepiness and onslaught of emotions that they were experiencing, but it’s so true. They are champs, such a great team together. And as I congratulated them and offered a few encouraging words, I felt really blessed. This is the beginning of the best time of their lives, and I was getting to photograph it for them. So so cool.
Evelyn slept through most of our time together and hardly made a peep (except for a few ‘I’m hungry!’ whimpers), so it made it very easy for me to snap hundreds of photos during our session. Take a look for yourself 🙂
I love the little smirk!
Ahh! Baby yawns — LOVE.
The cozy blanket Evelyn was wrapped in was the same blanket that JP’s mom was brought home from the hospital in.
You make parenthood look easy and so beautiful, my friends.
Puppy love, I’m such a sucker for it 🙂
Favorite favorite!
Ok, another fave. Love this one!
Angela spent months and months working on the perfect nursery for miss Evelyn, and she really outdid herself, y’all. From the grey and peach palette to the ellies (eek!!) and countless personal, girlie touches, it’s simply divine. I am kinda jealous, I admit, and Evelyn is a very lucky girl to get to grow up in this precious room surrounded by so many sweet things.
Can I tell you how much I adore those curtains?! Perfection.
I just about died when I saw that ellie hamper. I forgot to ask where they found it, but I must get one for Bree! I think it’s my favorite thing in the whole room 🙂
JP let me know that this book was very special to Angela and has great sentimental value for her. I have a few books that I hold in the same regard…funny how books can do that.
JP, Angela, and sweet Evelyn, meeting you was such a treat. Thank you for welcoming me into your home and letting me photograph these amazing moments for you. I think you both are doing such a great job tackling this whole parenting thing, and you’ll be total pros in no time 🙂 Just keep the coffee flowing! Hugs for such an awesome session — I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
