1. The Countdown Begins. Y’all, there are only 96 days until Christmas! Whaaaat??? It’s no secret that I am a Christmas fanatic, so I have been counting down the days since, um, 12-26-2012 I suppose. This year is going to be our best yet, now that we have our own little bebe to experience the wonders of the season with. It’s true, I have already started Christmas shopping and decor buying. Call me crazy, but last year, so many of the things I wanted to get were sold out so I decided to start super early this year. Pinterest has been my best bud already for all things holiday related too, giving me some pretty awesome ideas like this cookie gift, book suggestions for Bree, or simplistic decor. I clearly cannot wait until Christmas, but the next 96 days are looking pretty fun leading up to la navidad. We are planning to take Bree to our church’s pumpkin patch and to Zoo Boo at the Houston zoo next month, and I will get some ‘me’ time at the Nutcracker market and Round Top in just a few weeks. Yay for holiday season! Holler if you want to tag along to any of our little outings 🙂
2. Fantasy, Baby. This year I joined my first ever fantasy football league with my gals and despite not knowing if I would enjoy it (I am a college football fan first and foremost), I am having a BLAST! Why in the world did I not think of doing this sooner? I can see what all the hype is about, and I completely understand how crazy it can get. Luckily, my pals are pretty tame. No trash talking or bashing going on in our league…at least not yet! It really has been so fun and my team is actually doing quite well (yes, WITH Dallas’ defense!). I have to say my favorite part so far though has got to be the team names. I had no idea how clever fantasy names were until I started Googling them for ideas (I am Easy Bree-sy, an homage to my kid and my fave QB Drew Brees, who unfortunately isn’t on my team). Our league has some hilarious names (Queen My Dishes Please, and Back That Pass Up) — what are YOUR clever fantasy team names??
3. CDP News. Fall is about 99% booked up (woohoo!) and I am loving all of the sessions we have been photographing already. Beautiful locations, beautiful light, and beautiful people — have I mentioned how much I adore my clients? Best job ever 🙂 Shoot me an email if you still need to schedule your session, before it’s too late! I also have a workshop in the works for this fall, and am thinking of switching things up a bit as far how the workshop is organized. I am thinking an outdoor, hands-on kind of thing this time around, so please holler if you think you may be interested. I won’t be able to offer the workshop if there aren’t enough people interested, but I DO offer one-on-one mentoring sessions, just FYI!
4. Thread Tunes. Since first hearing it, Anna Kendrick’s song Cups (from the movie Pitch Perfect) has been in my head nonstop. Now it’s all over the radio, and I just can’t escape it! Who knew Anna Kendrick could sing so well anyways?? It’s a fun little ditty, perfect for this week’s tune 🙂 so go give it a listen!
