Many people probably think that I take photos for family all the time, and that’s actually not the case, sadly — so much of our family lives in other cities, some in other states, and even a few on completely different land masses (I have two brothers in Hawaii right now!). Unfortunately, opportunities don’t often present themselves for capturing photos of our loved ones, at least not nearly as I would like. Troy’s sister and her family do live close by though — the only ones who do! — and I relish in the chance to photograph them each year around this time. The kids are insanely cute and love to bring on the cheese for my camera (I swear I didn’t cultivate that trait in them!); watching both of them grow up on the other side of my lens has been priceless, and this year was certainly no different. Dreamy, glowy light, a precious family that I adore, and this grateful photog…. here is a peek at my mini session with the Johnston fam:

I don’t always get individual photos of the parents, but I try — because then I end up capturing sweet moments like these 🙂
