What a gift it is to have a friendship that lasts through the years… Lori and I met freshman year in college and have stayed great friends ever since — over a decade! Our group of friends has been through it all and has stayed really close, no matter what life has thrown our way. Troy and I were the first to bring a baby into the mix, and I admit I was a little nervous to change the group dynamic (a baby changes everything!), but not long after announcing our pregnancy to friends and family, I learned that Lori and her hubby Jacob were also expecting! I was excited for so many reasons, but most of all, to have one of my closest friends to experience motherhood with. Lori and Jacob welcomed sweet Owen Thomas on November 24, and our close-knit group grew once more 🙂
It has been so amazing, getting to watch one of your best friends become a mommy. It truly is the most beautiful transformation and Lori has settled into her new role like a real pro. I also love how our group of friends continues to grow and change, together. As life hands us new experiences, we stand by each other and go through it hand-in-hand. One thing’s for sure, our kiddos have the best aunties anyone could ever hope for, and boy do we have so much love for little Owen.

I was floored at how beautifully Lori built Owen’s nursery. The color palette is perfection and every little detail is just plain adorable. I think my favorite part is the ‘Dream Big Little One’ set of framed prints over Owen’s crib — precious.

Several times during our session, I caught myself ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the love that was in front of my camera. Owen is just so incredibly loved, by two incredible people. It was one of my favorite sessions to date.
Lori, being a mommy totally becomes you my friend. It makes my heart happy to see you so filled with joy!!
