Wowza — Thread #97. That means 100 is just around the corner, so I better start working on something BIG, huh?? So many options!! Stay tuned!
1. Yeehaw.ย March = rodeo season, at least for most of southeast Texas. I love this time of year — everyone donning boots and denim, eating BBQ, and watching mutton bustin ๐ Not to mention the awesome concerts we get to attend for dirt cheap.ย Troy and I plan to attend a few events sans-baby but this will be Bree’s first official rodeo season and we are looking forward to taking her to see all the animals and partake in some of the festivities with us. She will be 8mo, so I know there is more that she CAN’T do than not, so do you guys have any recommendations for us regarding baby-friendly activities? We are obviously very new at this ๐ Also, what tips to do you have for packing a kid for a trip to the rodeo — must-haves? Don’t-needs? The idea of forgetting something we may need (and being too far from the car) makes me freak out a bit already. And having to change her or prep her food out there gives me heart palpitations….
2. Champagne Taste, Sippy Cup Budget.ย Having a girl is hard on the bank account. With all of the cute clothes, shoes, and bows out there, I never seem to get enough. So I am always looking for good deals where I can (you’re welcome, Troy). One of my favorite things to do is shop consignment, and I was lucky enough to go early to the Tot 2 Tot sale last week with my sis-in-law. We scored some awesome things for our kiddos, for pennies on the dollar. Be sure to follow them on FB to find out when their sales are — totally worth it, and with most of the items 50% off on the last day, you can’t afford to miss out! I also shop on FB groups that are kind of like online garage sales, as well as follow a few resale vendors on Instagram. There really area lot of options to buy for less (most of the things I end up finding have either been used one or two times, OR still have the tags on them!!). And when I want to score some cute items without breaking the bank, these have been my go-to online shops: Positively Oakes, ย The Little Bird Shop, and Swak Co (to name a few).
3. CDP News.ย First, let me say that last weekend we had the first CDP Workshop of 2014 and it. was. incredible. The people, the vendors, the experiences and silly moments — I loved it all. And I am so excited for our next one in March ๐ I will be sharing a recap from last weekend soon, along with lots of pics — don’t miss it! In other news, we have one spot left for mini sessions on March 15 in Cypress, so holler if you want to book it. Think beautiful sunlight, rustic details, grassy fields, and loads of FUN ๐ I may be able to sneak in another set for my Houston peeps in May, so if you want to be among the first to find out about that set, shoot me an email and be sure to like the CDP page on FB! Last, I am working on a really exciting set of sessions at….wait for it…the BEACH! I have been dying to do a set of beach sessions and am pumped to be working out the details. I will be sharing them with you very soon! ๐
4. Thread Tunes.ย Thanks to the return of The Voice, my love of music continue to grow. I swear this season is the BEST YET. Bria Kelly and Christina Grimmie are among my faves and I am going to go out on a limb and tag them as top 10 — easily. Check out their blind audition performances (so good, y’all). That’s why they are my Thread Tunes this week ๐
5. Sneak Peek. I am in the process of editing a few projects, one of which is this sweet mama, due very soon with baby #2. Can’t wait to share this fun session with you all!
