I’m finally sitting down to post today’s Thread — it’s been a crazy day already! I’m running around like a mad woman (what’s new?), wondering why there aren’t more hours in the day. Surely I’m not the only one…? I’ve been trying to carve out a little time here and there to stop and relax in the midst of all the chaos (something that I admit I am terrible at) and in doing so, have been enjoying taking Bree out for our daily jog. Oddly, I found that spending that small amount of time doing something that doesn’t involve cleaning, working, or planning has helped me so much. It seems to clear my head and amp up my energy levels, which always helps 😉 Now that my head is clear, on to the Thread!
1. Easter is Here?? I know that the reason for Easter reaches far beyond neon-colored peeps, pastel decorations, and baskets full of candy, and that is most definitely where we place our focus as the holiday approaches. But I admit, had high hopes for sprinkling a little superficial Easter cheer around our home for the month of April. Other than some (fake) flowers and a new spring wreath on my front door, I have totally missed the mark in that department. It wasn’t for lack of wanting to; I have three bags of Easter decor in my office, just sitting there. My problem is that I don’t ever just buy the already-made stuff. You know, the festive yard art, ceramic bunnies and eggs, and those clever wreaths made out of plastic eggs. Nope, I buy the ‘I have so much time on my hands, why don’t I make my OWN decorations totally from scratch’ stuff. Like plain white resin eggs (to be painted), cute pastel puffy balls (to be strung together for our chalkboard), moss and wood items (to use with florals for the mantle and table). Ya, Pinterest is going to be the death of me. I did get Bree’s Easter basket done though, as well as some small ones for my niece, nephew, and Troy. Oh, and our outfits are ready for Sunday 🙂 Can I get a high five for that?? I LOVE the festiveness surrounding holidays, all of them, but boy are they a reminder that I soooo don’t have my sh* together 😉
2. Nailed It! I recently heard about this new nail phenomenon called Jamberry Nails, and I am more than a little intrigued. They make all kinds of nail wraps for your nails, in the trendiest colors and patterns. I could browse through their collections all day! The coolest part is that they cost less than a mani/pedi and last 2 weeks (4 weeks on your toes). I am about to buy one in every dang color — anyone ever use them? What are your thoughts??
3. Grub in a Truck. Troy and I first got a taste for food trucks ages ago (pun intended), and am so glad they’ve made a niche for themselves here in Houston. Our favorite is Bernie’s Burger Bus; their burgers are so darn good! We don’t get to take advantage of this ‘mobile’ dining experience as often as we’d like (there aren’t many food trucks in the ‘burbs) but when I saw that Houston was hosting a Food Truck Fest in a few weeks, I had to tell Troy about it! How glutenous fun is that??? Tickets are on sale for about $12pp for a limited time, and there’s even a Groupon for 60% off VIP tickets right now. Have any of you ever been to the Houston Food Truck Fest? If so, yay or nay? And what are YOUR favorite Houston food trucks?
4. Thread Tune. Today, I have to share with you Sail Away by David Gray. I heard it for the first time on American Idol this week and loved it. How have I not heard it before?!?! I am a big fan of David Gray’s music, so it’s only natural that I would enjoy this song — and it’s a perfect listen on this dreary day 🙂
5. Sneak Peek. I have so many sessions with the cutest families to share with you in the coming weeks; here’s a little preview:

Hey Chelsea! So I’ve tried the jam berry wraps recently. They are really cool and have lots of patterns but I had a huge issue with them lifting on my nails. I tried them on my toes and they worked great! But if you use your fingers a lot to do… Well anything, then I would say it last as long as polish but doesn’t have to dry 😉
