1. Happy Birthday! First off, I want to wish one of my bffs, Sarah, a VERY happy birthday week (yes, she celebrates the week)! We will be toasting her turning the big 3-0 on Saturday and I am thrilled to join the rest of my pals in celebrating the day my fabulous friend was born 🙂 Happy bday, Sarah!!
2. Pack Your Bags. We neeeeeed a vacay. Like desperately. We used to be such jet-setters but haven’t made it out of the state since before we got pregnant, and have only been on one local-ish outing in the meantime. It’s soooo time. We didn’t want to venture too far but wanted a fun adventure with lots to see and do, and also with a lot of options for relaxing and spa-going. That’s when Sedona, AZ came to mind. I’ve heard awesome things about its beauty and the incredible resorts, and since the Grand Canyon is close by and also on our bucket list, this could end up being quite the successful little getaway 🙂 A few friends have recommend a handful of resorts and outings, so we have a nice little to-do list going. I’m curious if any of you have been to the area and have some do’s (or don’ts) for us too??
3. CDP News. Two weeks ago, I announced the Halfway to the Holidays fall minis and you guys BLEW MY MIND with the fast response! We were sold out before dinnertime! I get so excited about these minis because we always have a ton of fun…and I admit that I get a bit of a kick out of seeing all the poor guys dressed up in their ‘winter’ best for an 80 degree photo shoot! They are always such troopers, but it cracks me up every time 🙂 Us wives can be quite convincing/persistent/set on getting our way! These will be the last minis for the year and regular fall sessions are booking quite fast as well, so if you’ve got it on your list to schedule photos before the year is over, shoot me an email and we will get you on the calendar!
4. New Series. I sometimes have sessions or photos that don’t make it to the blog for this reason or that, but when I look back through them, I still feel really excited about getting to post them here. So I decided to start a new little series on the Thread (and sometimes in lieu of the Thread on weeks that get away from me!) that allows me to share images from my archives. Some will be client sessions and others will be photos from my life and its adventures 🙂 I was tempted to call it Throwback something-or-another but I thought I could come up with something a little more original. Enter: Take Two. Coming to a blog post near you very soon 🙂
5. Thread Tunes. I love (and then hate) a song with a tune that gets stuck in my head, but without fail it happens all the time. Lately, I can’t get away from Magic!’s song Rude and although I love the reggae vibe and catchy lyrics, I have just about exceeded my limit on how many times I can hear that song. And then something hilarious and, in my opinion, genius happened. A talented dad parodied this song as a response from the father’s perspective! So funny! If you haven’t seen this video yet, you have to see it (especially if you have a daughter who you pray never falls in love with a guy who wants to run away with her and marry her despite your disapproval). Needless to say, I think this is Troy’s new favorite song 🙂
6. Sneak Peek. I have to share a little snippet from Bree’s one year session we shot the week before her birthday. I am still in disbelief that she’s no longer a ‘baby’ and admit that I shed a tear every now and then when I realize how fleeting the time is. I will be sharing the rest of this session with you very soon, as well as all the details from her super fun (and hot) birthday party 🙂
