Wow. The past few weeks have been chaotic for us and I have barely been able to keep my head above water! Our calendar was full of must-do’s and getting through each one has been as easy as wading through mud. Out of town, back in town, packing boxes, back out of town again, back in town again, packing more boxes, Troy leaving for a business trip for three days (the week we moved! Ugh!) and then spending the last 24 hours in our first home together frantically trying to box up the past five years before movers arrived to haul it to casa #2. We made it though and I now type this from my new cozy bedroom, surrounded by our sleepy fur balls and a few unopened boxes.
The move itself was pretty much like any other move, I’m sure. Things went great, and then things went not so great, as we were faced with torrential downpours, a truck that wasn’t big enough for all our junk stuff, a garage door that needed fixing, and a nonfunctioning shut-off valve for the sink which led to a kitchen full of water and us frantically trying to clean it all up before it ruined my nice floors. Oh, and did I mention cable and internet couldn’t be installed for another week? Ya, so that means we are forced to keep trucking along, tackling boxes without TV land respite. Our kind neighbors have offered their wifi in the meantime, which has been very nice and is how I am able to type this post. With all that was thrown at us, it feels good to be just about finished now, with a light at the end of the tunnel ever so close. We couldn’t have done it without Troy’s unbelievably hard work (and patience) and the help of my mom who kept us all afloat. Sweet friends made sure we had everything we needed too, including meals and muscle to unload boxes and stuff. This preggo is tired and sore to say the least, but oh so happy 🙂 Happy to have a new home to make our own. Happy to finally be exactly where we are supposed to be. And happy to start nesting for our little guy’s winter arrival.
And speaking of winter, how ’bout that weather this weekend?! Ok I know it was far from winter weather but boy it was a nice break from the humidity and scorching temps we’ve had as of late. I indulged in TWO pumpkin spice lattes, left the windows open in the house all day Saturday, and even wore long-sleeves! Woo! I love this time of year and hope fall is here to stay. Even if it does mean a lot of rain this week…
Although we’ve had our plate full, I hate that I haven’t been able to blog for a few weeks but promise I will work hard to get things semi-organized here so I can be back on track and back to my normal routine as soon as possible (you should SEE my office right now — oh my). I have lots of photos to share from our river adventure, our getaway to Arizona, and a sweet little boy I photographed just before the move. Oh, and before I forget, thanks so much for all of your supportive and kind words on Instagram and Facebook — they’ve help me keep going! 🙂 Have a wonderful week and I will be sure to check in again soon.
xoxo,
Chelsea
