1. I am so glad it’s December! I heart this month so much, the festivities, the food, the Starbucks drinks, Christmas lights everywhere, and SALES! Thanks to generous online shops, I have almost all of our Christmas shopping completely DONE without having to leave the comfort of my cozy couch. I just need to get some things for stockings and one or two people and that’s IT! Woohoo! I blame it on being 35 weeks pregnant and not wanting to fight crowds or walk long distances — ha! If you still have some shopping to do, definitely check out Amazon.com for amazing deals like 30% off already-reduced Frye boots, and 50% off select Melissa and Doug toys, Children’s Place, Gap, and Carter’s for fab deals on kids’ clothes, and places like Target for great BOGO options. And is it just me or does it seem like everyone is doing free shipping?? Love it!
2. Decking the Halls. I am trying to keep it fairly low-key this year since we will have a brand new baby around the time when Christmas decor typically goes back into their boxes, and I admit that I am loving the versatile, clean looks that people all over the internet are donning this year for their homes. Bold colors or black lines (my fave), whatever your style, there’s great stuff out there for you without having to ‘go all out’. Like any single thing from Lindsay Letters’ holiday collection, the handmade look of Anthropologie’s decor (including these awesome sisal trees), felt ball wreaths or garland from West Elm (both on sale!). I have a little inspiration in my home from each of these places and I am so excited about it. Will definitely share some pics next week when things slow down. Have you found any great decor for your home that’s both simple and lovely??
3. CDP News. I am officially on maternity leave — WOOHOO! But don’t worry, I am still answering emails here and there as I am able, and have one and a half sessions currently in editing that will go out this week. I will return to regular shooting in February but will continue to bug you with random blog posts and Instagram pictures I’m sure 🙂 And if you would like to order prints or gift certificates, let me know before Dec 10 and I will get those orders done for you! Remember, it’s the best way to lock in 2014 pricing AND get the ‘Best Gift Ever’ award all at the same time 😉
4. Thread Tune. I am in LOVE with Ed Sheeran’s new song, Thinking Out Loud. It is the SWEETEST most romantical song ever 🙂 And the video is so neat too (who knew he could sing AND dance?!). I have kept it up on my phone for easy access because I listen to it that much — maybe I should just pay for it through iTunes already…. anyhoo, give it a listen and fall in love with it like I did! So so so good.
5. Throwback Thursday. Because we are taking Bree to see Santa again this year, and because this pic is just too cute, I thought I would throwback to last year when we took Bree to see Santa at Bass Pro Shop 🙂 Ugh, where has the time gone?!?!
