Oh happy day! No particular reason, just a little elated that Everett has been sleeping in his room for the third night in a row AND have us a six-hour stretch…twice! Way to go, little buddy!! In case you aren’t aware, six hours of consecutive sleep feels like a vacation when you have a new baby…almost a vacation. Yes, it’s that great of a gift if ever a newborn could actually give gifts 🙂 So let’s get to this week’s, Thread okay?
1. Noonday. A friend of mine recently invited me to a get-together showcasing gorgeous jewelry and accessories from Noonday Collection, an organization who “uses fashion to create meaningful opportunities around the world.” From their website: We travel the world to find artisan entrepreneurs who are passionate about creating opportunity in their communities. Artisan businesses in the developing world struggle to gain access to a global market where they can sell their handmade jewelry and accessories. When you shop our collection, host a Trunk Show, or become an Ambassador, you join us in creating a growing marketplace for artisan businesses, enabling them to make a difference in their communities.” It was a lovely morning spent with great girls, ooh-ing and ahh-ing over Noonday’s unique and stunning collection, and after I received my pieces in the mail, I decided it would be so much fun to host a trunk show and share this impactful organization with as many friends as I can! I am working on that right now and will be setting up an accompanying online ‘party’ for those who cannot shop in person. I will share the details here, of course! It’s such a great organization with a beautiful story and purpose. Below is a peek at what caught my eye. If you want to read more about Noonday, follow the link!
2. Instagram Love. I have watched my Instagram feed evolve over the years from photos of friends and family (still love them by the way!) to snapshots and words of wisdom from some of the most inspiring and insightful people across the world. It’s so cool how social media can connect us in that way. I never thought I would turn to Instagram for daily doses of encouragement, messages of faith and motherhood and love but it’s definitely my go-to. I wanted to share these few incredible accounts with you in hopes that they will be a bright spot in your insta feed too! First, @_cherishthemoment with Kelsey Cole, founder of The Pursuit of Joy Project. I swear this woman speaks straight to my mommy heart when she writes and I can feel my heart swelling, my eyes opening, and my love of Jesus growing when I read her posts. A definite must-follow right there. And then there’s Shauna from @sniequist who seems like one of your best friends when you come across a post from her. She is a talented author and avid cook and I always feel full when browsing through her posts. // I’ll bet you see more Instagram Love shout-outs in future Threads 🙂
3. CDP News. I plan to launch the new website by the end of the month, featuring new work and some new sessions, which I hinted at next week. I will be doing a model call TOMORROW so be sure to follow me on Facebook for the details! In other news, we are booking up quickly for spring and sessions are booking into May so if you are wanting photos done in the next few months, shoot me an email 🙂 I am also toying with the idea of a set of bluebonnet minis at a beautiful property out past Brenham with fields full of bluebonnets. It would take place during the week and will likely happen the first week of April. I know it’s a drive so if you may be interested, comment below or on FB and let me know you’re interested!
4. Thread Tune. Taylor Swift’s song Style has me feeling like a teenager when I listen to it, sunroof open and volume on blast. Oh wait, T-swift is all grown up now, so scratch that. It makes me feel like a hip twenty-something 😉 #30goingon25 But in all seriousness, it’s may favorite track on her newest record and I listen to it at least three times back to back. I think you may feel the same, so enjoy it on this lovely Thursday (see, I am suuuuper chipper. Ahhh sleep will do that to a girl).
5. Sneak Peek. I had the privilege of doing a mentoring session last week for another local photographer and the Williston family graciously ‘modeled’ for us. Here is a peek at what we captured:
