I’ve been pretty terrible about posting personal photos here on the blog but I set my mind to sharing more this year and our rodeo pics are a pretty good way to get the ball rolling šĀ It was Bree’s (and Everett’s) first trip to the HLSR and we had so much fun experiencing it through the eyes of our kiddos. Everett slept the entire time but it’s probably for the best since our lively toddler was all over the place, taking in the sights and trying to touch all the animals (mind the red line!). Thankfully, my parents joined us so we had help š Troy and IĀ usually go to the rodeo and concert events, never taking time to see what else the HLSRĀ had to offer, but we were quite impressed — especially with the food options! — and I know Bree had a great time.
The petting zoo part was one of the best attractions for little kids and we loved getting to feed the baby animals. The bigger animals, however, were borderline terrifying. AĀ llama, large goat, and deer were the main aggressors, as you will see, and my mom was almost knocked over when she tried to feed them! The whole experience was hilarious, yet a bitĀ concerning as well. No matter where you turned, your little food cup wasn’tĀ safe from one sneaky thief of an animal orĀ the next and apparently they don’t discriminate on what they will eat. At one point, I felt an abrupt tug on my sweater and when I looked down to see whose child was acting so impolitely, I was shocked to discover it was a deer. Who was busy happily ingesting my sweater. Yum.Ā The bottom half was already down his throat by the time IĀ realized it, twisting quickly to remove myself from my sweater and pulling as hard as I could to retrieve it from the deerĀ before God knows what would have happened. Covered in deer slobber and an incredible amount of half-digested feed, the sweater was a loss and we decided it was time to go, but not before I snapped some cute photos of Bree with the baby animals. That was pretty much the cutest thing ever, and totally worth losing my sweater over…
