We quickly settled in to beach life (30A can do that to a person) and over the next few days, made sure to visit more of the places that came highly recommended to us, most of which were in Seaside. As I mentioned, this is by far my favorite area along 30A and I am so glad our rental home was so close because we spent a lot of time there. After breakfast one morning, we spent the better part of the day walking around the adorable square, grabbing lunch at a few of the many (amazing) food trucks and shopping for souvenirs.
I have heard nothing but good things about the food trucks in Seaside and I am here to tell you it’s all true. I had the best grilled cheese at The Meltdown (the Strawberry Goat Forever), Bree and Ev killed their meal from Wild Bill’s Beach Dogs, and Troy had a pulled pork sandwich from Barefoot BBQ. After some shopping, we grabbed snow cones from the Frost Bites truck — our kids’ favorite.
There are so many cute shops in Seaside, truly something for everyone. I loved browsing Art of Simple, Cabana by The Seaside Style and the other Seaside Style shops (they have several different ones, and I visited them all!), and Duckies Shop of Fun where we found the cutest stuff for the kids and picked out a few things for the baby 🙂 While walking around, we randomly spotted Pete the Cat outside of Sundog Books and just had to stop in for a photo — the kids were floored! We left with this adorable Goodnight 30A book and some activity books for the kiddos, then headed over to the beach of course, where we spent the rest of the day.
Dinner brought us back (I told you it was our favorite spot) for quick bite at The Taco Bar, another Bud and Alley’s establishment. I thought the food was just okay… but we are taco aficionados here in Texas so we are pretty picky. I did love the fun atmosphere though, the people watching, and ending the day with that stunning watercolor sunset.
A few more spots around Seaside worth mentioning: Amavida Coffee and Tea (I loved their iced latte), Five Daughter’s Bakery (food truck), Crepes du Soleil (food truck), Amore by the Sea (a neat little shoppe with original artwork and trinkets for sale), Dawson’s Yogurt (yummy fudge), and the Post Office for a great photo op!
I will be sharing one more post from our trip — check in soon!
