What does the session fee include?
Your session fee includes my time and talent during your session, professional culling and editing a final selection of images, and a password-protected gallery (mini session and head shot sessions include a selection of digital images as well).
How soon should I schedule my session?
My calendar starts to fill up between one and three months out, depending on the season, and I only schedule a set number of sessions per month. I recommend filling out the contact form and inquiring about a session as soon as possible!
When should I book my maternity and/or newborn session?
Clients typically begin booking their maternity/ newborn session at about twenty weeks, though many jump at the chance much sooner out of sheer excitement, and to ensure their date is reserved on my calendar!
When do newborn sessions take place?
I prefer to shoot newborn sessions within 7-14 days of baby’s arrival, however, because my lifestyle newborn sessions are more candid and not posed, I will photograph babies beyond that window up to four weeks.
When do maternity sessions take place?
I recommend scheduling maternity sessions for 30-35 weeks, when you have a good sized baby bump but aren’t too uncomfortable yet!
Do you offer mini sessions?
I do!! And I LOVE them. I offer a limited set of organized minis twice per year, in spring and in fall. Be sure to follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest on mini sessions!
What choices do we have for locations?
There are few backdrops better than what we have in nature, therefore I shoot nearly all of my sessions on location with beautiful natural light. I have worked hard to offer my clients locations that will guarantee the best light and shooting conditions, and provide those options when we finalize the session details. I am also quite fond of shooting in my clients’ homes — there’s nothing more personal than that! How special for you and your children to be able to relive the fond memories of their childhood home? I promise you we can find gorgeous light and the most incredible spaces there to shoot in. Trust me and we will create some magic.
How long until I get to see the images from my session?
Clients will typically get a sneak peek via Instagram and/or Facebook in the week following their session, and can expect to receive the link to the finished gallery within three weeks. I always strive to complete them sooner — I know you are just as excited as I am about your photos!
Do you shoot events and/or weddings?
It pains me to say this, but we no longer photograph weddings. We do take on a select number of events each year, on a case by case basis. Please inquire for rates and availability.
Do you shoot Canon or Nikon?
I am over ten years a Canon girl. I shoot with a 5DMark IV and a 5DMark III backup. Lately, you may even see me pull out the old (new) film camera for a few frames.
Do you offer studio headshots?
I do not, not in the traditional sense. I specialize in lifestyle/ environmental portraits, typically at a location that highlights your brand, your business, and/or your personality. I love the feel that this type of headshot evokes, one that tells your story and engages the viewer and your potential clients. We can always reserve a natural light studio though as a great option that still offers a natural, organic look.
